When creating a sales order, the current cost field from the GP Item Card is recorded as the unit cost. When that sales order is posted in GP, the FIFO layer cost replaces the current cost. We have many stores and each store purchases differently. The current cost on the item card fluctuates daily. It would be nice if we could look at the FIFO layer for the item being sold and pull a cost from there, knowing that that FIFO layer will be looked at again when the sales document is posted. Showing a FIFO layer cost, even if that layer may be gone and a new layer is in use when the document is posted will be a much better cost field to show on SalesPad reports showing un-posted documents than the current cost field does.
